Soil Services Company, Inc.
is a Pennsylvania corporation founded in 1984 by Laurel
F. Mueller, a Certified Professional Soil Scientist /
Soil Classifier. Originally based in Penns Park,
Bucks County, the firm relocated in 1999 to a family
farm in Forksville, Sullivan County, in the heart of the
Endless Mountains.
Soil Services provides professional
consultation services in soil science, geomorphology,
hydrogeology, environmental inventory, and assessment of
natural land features. Our staff scientists and
associates manage all aspects of federal and state
environmental permitting.
The company’s projects vary greatly
in size and complexity. We work directly with property
owners, land developers, and builders on single lots,
subdivisions and commercial land developments. On
larger, more complex projects, we may coordinate with
engineering, surveying, architectural and planning
teams.
Our reconnaissance mapping and
specialized environmental services enable other
consultants in land development to offer a broader scope
of services to their clients, on an as-needed basis.
For agencies and local government,
Soil Services Company, Inc. can provide field
determinations, site inspections, second opinions,
oversight in the development of ordinances, and expert
testimony.
